The monk (Jupiter (5)) and the bandit (Rahu (8))
Every human being naturally has both good and evil sides. It is just a question of which side is more dominant, or whether they are equally presented.
They are inner talents or inner potentials that will arise given the right circumstances. They will be following the native’s horoscope that could predict or predict them.
Goodness is a human’s light side and it is comparable to a monk, namely Jupiter (5). The planet represents sympathy, soft-hearted, optimism (naive), mindfulness, virtues, and wisdom. (As external factors, it represents monks, priests, teachers, professors, supervisors, patrons)
Evilness is a human’s dark side and it is comparable to a bandit, namely Rahu (8). The planet represents indulgence, obsession, trickery, cunning, naivety (being tricked or easily manipulated) (As external factors it represents doper, cunning person, an addicted person, a chivalrous person (good), thug (bad), gambling, intoxicants, stocks, lotteries)
To predict the characteristics, habits, behaviors of a native in terms of goodness/evilness as mentioned above, Jupiter (5) and Rahu (8) has to be compared to each other.
This step can presumably be called the step of analyzing and criticizing the monk and the bandit to compare which one of them will prevail as follows:
A true good-hearted human
In this case, Jupiter (5) must be very powerful and Rahu (8) has to be very weak, namely:
– Powerful Jupiter (5) is considered good. (The dignity is exaltation, Maha Chakra, Chula Chakra, pre-exaltation, post-exaltation, domicile, Raja Yoga, Devi Yoga and/or with its friendly pair, elemental pair, and kindred pair.) And relates to the ascendant.
– If it conjoins with the ascendant and has a positive dignity it will be considered at its most powerful state. – If it is in opposition, sextile or trine and has a lesser dignity it will be less powerful accordingly.
This must be analyzed and compared in every aspect. Both the dignity and the relation will imply the percentage level of the planet’s power (approximately) as in the first case.
** Aside from the dignity, the planet’s friendly pair, elemental pair, and kindred pair have to be checked if they are related to each other or not. They may further enhance each other from neutral to positive, and from positive to very positive.
The planet’s strengthh can be evaluated according to the principles that were mentioned in the earlier chapters.
– Rahu (8) is weak implies that it is negative. (Debilitation, Detriment) If it is unrelated to the ascendant also it will be considered at its weakest state. On the other hand, ascendant related Rahu will be less weak. (Becoming a bit stronger)
– The comparison, in this case, is between Jupiter (5) and Rahu (8) to evaluate their strengthhs respectively. In case Jupiter is much more dominant than Rahu then virtues and optimism (naive) without trickery and naivety (being easily tricked) will be presented.
This implies that the native is purely good. In other words, “purely naive” for instance, Jupiter (5) is domicile dignified and conjoins with the ascendant in Pisces and Rahu (8) is detriment dignified in Leo (Ari Bhava),
or in case Jupiter (5) is exaltation dignified and conjoins with the ascendant in Cancer and Rahu (8) in Gemini (Vinashana Bhava), this case implies that the native is rather shrewd.
Although exaltation dignified Jupiter (5) indicates that a native is truly a good person, as a monk rather than a bandit.
A true swindler
In this case, Rahu (8) must be extremely powerful. Additionally, Jupiter (5) must be very weak. In other words:
– Powerful Rahu (8) is considered good.
Rahu (8) implies the trait of cunning, trickery, shrewdness, and indulgence. When it becomes exaltation dignified, the abundance, prosperity, constantly powerful characteristics will enhance these traits even further.
(This may result in a cunning person, tricky person, or even a swindler.), Maha Chakra is periodically powerful. Domicile is not very powerful but it will grow stronger as the time goes. (The older the native gets the more indulged he/she becomes.)
Therefore, it may take time until old age so to become cunning. On the other hand, it may imply that the older the native gets the more cunning he/she becomes. Other less powerful dignities will not make the native becomes cunning or tricky. (Even when Jupiter (5) is weak.)
It will instead result in a reasonable level of shrewdness without being credulous (not indulged) and infatuated.
– Jupiter (5) is weak. In other words, Jupiter (5) is negative (debilitation, detriment) and unrelated to the ascendant. If it is ascendant-related it will be slightly stronger. (Getting stronger)
– For instance, the ascendant is in Capricorn and Rahu (8) is Maha-Chakra dignified and in conjunction with the ascendant.
Besides, Jupiter (5) is in Aquarius and Kadhumpa Bhava. The Sun (1) and Mars (3) are unrelated to the ascendant. This is considered a real swindler since the dignities are in contrast with each other.
Even though Jupiter (5) is neutral and is not negative (Or Jupiter (5) is debilitation dignified and conjoins with the ascendant, it is still considered in strong contrast with each other.)
– The comparison, in this case, is between the strengthh of Rahu (8) and Jupiter (5). If Rahu’s strengthh is much more dominant than the strengthh of Jupiter, it implies that the native is very cunning and tricky.
Meanwhile, there will be no virtues or virtually no virtues. Jupiter (5) represents judgment. In this case, the native may lack good judgment and may commit evil deeds and cheat on others. The native is a real swindler.
However, if Jupiter (5) is Tanu-Sed it implies that virtues are presented and therefore they may resist those negative traits. As a result, the native may not cheat but instead becomes shrewd and sophisticated. Sometimes the native may be cunning as well.
On the other hand, when the ascendant is in Leo, in the house of the Sun (1) or the Sun (1) is positive and relates to the ascendant, it represents pride and dislike of losing face.
Additionally, when Mars (3) is Tanu-Sed or relates to the ascendant shows that staunchness, straightforwardness will also suppress those cheating traits as well.
– For instance, the ascendant is in Virgo and Rahu (8) is exaltation dignified and in forwarding sextile in Scorpio.
Additionally, Jupiter (5) is in Leo (Vinashana Bhava). They imply that the native is cunning and tricky. (There are several levels of cheating. It is not necessary just plain and straightforward.)
Even Mars (3) is in opposition and the Sun (1) is in backward sextile they will still indicate swindling. Although it is a somewhat lawful and polite way. For instance, being a rather cunning lawyer.
– For instance, the ascendant is in Leo. Rahu (8) is pre-exaltation in forwarding sextile and is in Libra. Jupiter (5) is in Taurus (Karma Bhava). Mars (3) is in opposition to the ascendant and is Tanu-Sed. The Sun (1) is an inner ruling planet in Marana Bhava.
This implies that the native is shrewd and tends to be cunning. There is an example of this case. Other planets could not prevent it and the native was a swindler who gambled away all his/her money.
** Concerning Rahu (8) that is exaltation dignified, it is considered a positive and beneficial planet. Though it can also bring harmful effects. It is beneficial in terms of intelligence and shrewdness.
However, since trickery is presented and Jupiter (5) is not strong enough to prevent it, the native will become a tricky person that manipulates or cheats other people. As external factors, it represents stocks, lotteries, intoxicants.
These things may bring fortune (if it is ascendant related.) In the case of pre-exaltation and post-exaltation, it will also have similar effects. In the case of Maha Chakra, it will become periodically strong and fluctuating. Therefore, it is hard to predict the outcome.
Normally, the native does not cheat but when given the right circumstance he/she may do so more than in the case of exaltation. In the case of domicile, it will not affect the cunning or cheating since the effects are too slow. It will take time until the latter stage of life to become very cunning.
(Although it will occur to a certain degree that the older the native becomes the more he/she becomes addicted to gambling until life becomes ruined.)
In the case of Raja Yoga and Devi Yoga, it may not lead to cheating since it is not powerful enough. Therefore, it will only be beneficial in terms of shrewdness. As external factors, it will only give positive effects.
(Although in terms of indulgence it is hard to predict even though Rahu is neutral. However, anything can happen when negative transiting planets are presented.)
