Solution. –
In fact, the local time adjustment issue was solved for long time ago by The Astrologers Association of Thailand but only few Thai astrologers should recognize such solution and apply the guideline.
Historically, the Astrologers Association of Thailand has a general meeting when the King Rama IX will ascend the throne in 1946.
It is necessary to cast his majesty horoscope in order to inscribe in Suphannabat (gold leaf) according to the royal tradition.
As his majesty was born in the US in the morning time and raised the problem whether to use the local time adjustment system in casting his birth chart or not.
The consensus from the meeting concluded that Thai astrology holds on to the appearance of the sun’s light as key principle.
The local time adjustment which causes the person who born at daytime with his body exposing to sunlight and resulting in nigh-time chart must be incorrect.
The consensus from the meeting concluded that the local time adjustment is not required for casting horoscope. In other words, local birth time of the birth place should apply for casting the horoscope.
It is more than 70 years that the Astrologers Association of Thailand agreed not to use local time adjustment.
Cynically, many Thai astrologers continue to use the local time adjustment system for casting horoscope in present day with unknown reasons.
When I began my study on Thai astrology, I also used the local time adjustment system with certain question on adjustment requirement.
No astrologers and books discussed about this issue and many astrologers in my time applied the local time adjustment.
Once in almost 20 years ago, I read an article in an astrology magazine called “Millionaire Horoscope (ดวงเศรษฐี)”.
There was the well-recognized Thai astrologer in master level in the Astrologers Association of Thailand came with the explanation as I mention above.
Since then, it ended my doubts about the things that frustrate me. Coincidentally, my second teacher does not use the local time adjustment but even uses relocating the Ascendant as well.
Since then, I have used my teacher’s system with acceptable outcome.
In conclusion, Thai astrology has no limited use in Thailand at all but can apply to every place in the World.
